MOMENTS OF TRANSITION
Transitions are times when you can see your players making decisions quickly when they are under pressure – so you need to make sure players are getting the repetition needed so they can make decisions almost without thinking.
The more stimuli a player is exposed to during practice the better their decision making becomes. Players need to be given the right environment to make decisions in a variety of game realistic settings and the coaching points of each of the sessions you use or the drills you play with your players must be met.
Transitions are the most important part of the game today especially at youth level.
Teams – individuals, pairs, small groups – that can react the quickest or anticipate where the ball is going to go will get a huge benefit by taking their opponents by surprise.
